This portfolio includes more recent geometry and dreams, shape shifters, unidentifiable scratchers and scars left - we are in an era of scarring - detritus and unexpected magnificence in abstraction and light.
On 24 February 2025, Putin began his full-scale invasion of Ukraine, this time determined to obliterate a sovereign country. Putin's act of unprovoked war has changed the geopolitics of the entire world. The West did not stop Putin. What has followed has been nothing less than the step by step destruction of the democratic principles that had guided my country before the 2024 election. I have been deeply, viscerally demoralised by both phenomena.
The poetry of suggestion, the beauty of ambiguity that have always dominated my work are still here. But, I find now that within my original, immediate responses to what is in the world in front of me, in addition to my search for illumination, for radiance, there is also a subtle recognition of my increasing unease.
